The user interface of the CloakCoin Wallet Client is similar to the Bitcoin core user interface. Below you will find explanations and information on how to get started.

The first step to start using CloakCoin is to Install the CloakCoin Client.

Initialization

The Cloakcoin window will open and connections will start up in minutes. On the first load the wallet will ask if you want to download the blockchain file. It is advisable to answer yes, as this considerably reduces the time necessary to download all the blocks.

Welcome Screen

After the welcome screen, the wallet will start looking for conections, it takes a few minutes depending on the quality of your network. After establishing a connection with the Cloak network the wallet will start to sync by downloading the missing blocks.

At this point, it is recommended to encrypt your wallet before making any CloakCoin transactions! Encrypting later may leave earlier addresses vulnerable to theft in the case that the system is compromised. This can be done from the Settings menu using the Encrypt Wallet function. Note that this will only encrypt the wallet.dat file, the transactions record and address book will be visible to anyone that has physical access to your software.

Do not lose the passphrase! If you forget your passphrase your funds will be lost.

As from version 2.1.0.0, and following the Cognosec security audit, the Wallet has now a complete wallet encryption feature. The first time you close your wallet it will ask you to enter a passphrase, the wallet will be complety encrypted including transaction records and address book. Again, do not lose the passphrase! If you forget your passphrase your funds will be lost.

On the next start up you will be asked to enter the passphrase.

CloakCoin Wallet

Your wallet will automatically generate your first CloakCoin addresses.

One regular for normal open transactions and one Stealth address used for private Enigma transactions.

The Receive coins tab displays the addresses you use to receive funds. This are the addresses you provide to receive payments.

You can create as many receiving addresses as you like. Clicking the 'New Address Button will add a regular address and New Stealth Address button will create a Stealth address used for private annonymous transactions.

For easier address indentification, its possible to edit the adresses label by double clicking on the address label itself.

CloakCoin Addresses

Regular Transactions and Enigma Transactions

The process of sending a ENIGMA payment is similar as sending a regular transaction.

The only diference is the type of address you type into the Pay To: field.

For a private ENIGMA payment its necessary to use a Steath address, after introducing or pasting the address the Enigma feature at the botton of the wallet will activate, and you will need to tick the Enigma option and choose the number of Cloakers and the Timeout for the operation.

Getting your First Coins

You can get your first Cloakcoins from cryptocurrency trading exchanges.
